We pride ourselves on offering secure, comfortable, and energy-efficient homes to low-income families, seniors, and those with disabilities. Our properties vary from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom single-family homes at rental rates that are well below the average in our area. Many of our properties are Federally-subsidized and can only be rented to families who fall under a certain annual income.
The Windy Hill Foundation began with the Windy Hill Renewal Project in 1981. Since that time, the Foundation has developed properties in Middleburg, The Plains, and Brambleton. We are currently working on townhomes in Marshall, VA, and we will be breaking ground on almost 100 units thissummer on Route 28.
Affordable housing with a heart.
The reason we provide affordable housing is because of the people who need it. We aren’t looking to be land developers and property owners; we are looking to offer quality housing to those who might otherwise be unable to afford it. Every person deserves to have a roof over their head. In the Loudoun County area, that basic need can be incredibly hard to fulfill.
We work with the government to provide Federal rent subsidies whenever we can. If we can’t, we try to keep rent prices inexpensive and reasonable. It’s not just about housing – it’s about taking care of thosewho have helped to make our community what it is today.
Energy-efficiency is a priority.
Whenever we build new properties or renovate old ones, we make our best effort to make them “green”-certified and energy-efficient. Energy-efficiency helps our residents to save money on energy bills, reduces mold and moisture problems, and helps our whole community breathe cleaner air. Healthier, cozier homes will always be a priority for Windy Hill Foundation.
