As May unfolded, Windy Hill’s Resident Services team continued its dedication to creating meaningful experiences that foster connection, wellness, and a strong sense of community among residents. This month’s programming focused on celebrating togetherness through engaging culinary experiences while also supporting the health and nutrition goals that remain a key focus of Resident Services initiatives.

Residents came together to celebrate the festive spirit of Cinco de Mayo with a lively and interactive Taco Bar event. The gathering provided residents with the opportunity to customize their own tacos with a variety of delicious toppings and flavorful sides, creating a fun and social dining experience for everyone involved. From fresh ingredients to savory additions, residents enjoyed building their tacos exactly to their liking while sharing conversation and laughter with neighbors. Jenny Greeley, a longtime resident of Levis Hill House for more than a decade, shared her thoughts on the Cinco de Mayo taco bar.

“‘I thought it was the best taco bar. I enjoyed both meat options and had never tried a chicken taco before until the Cinco de Mayo taco bar!”

The Cinco de Mayo celebration created an inviting atmosphere filled with energy, enjoyment, and community spirit. Residents appreciated the opportunity to participate in a themed event that encouraged engagement and social connection while also bringing a festive touch to the month’s activities calendar, while also highlighting the importance of these programs for residents’ wellbeing.

In addition to celebratory events, May programming also emphasized health, nutrition, and resident wellness through a thoughtfully planned Yogurt Parfait Bar Day. Designed to support the Resident Services team’s key outcome focus areas surrounding healthy living, the event encouraged residents to make nutritious choices while enjoying time together as a community.

Residents created their own yogurt parfaits using creamy Greek yogurt, fresh fruit toppings, and homemade granola specially prepared by Director of Resident Services, Michelle Lacaze. The homemade granola added a personal and thoughtful touch to the experience, making the event both nutritious and memorable. As residents assembled their parfaits and enjoyed one another’s company, the activity fostered social interaction while promoting the benefits of balanced and healthy eating habits. The Parfait Day event successfully combined wellness education with community engagement, providing residents with a fun and interactive way to explore nutritious food options in a welcoming environment.

Together, May’s initiatives reflect Windy Hill’s continued commitment to enhancing resident quality of life through enriching experiences that support wellness, social engagement, and community connection. Through festive celebrations and health-focused programming, Resident Services remains dedicated to creating an environment where residents feel valued, supported, and empowered every day.
