Why Volunteer with Windy Hill?
I started volunteering at Windy Hill almost three years ago when I was semi-retired. I love the Middleburg community and wanted to do something locally that would be of help. I thoroughly enjoy working with Windy Hill residents. Whether it be distributing summer vegetables, or calling Bingo at Levis Hill House, I hope it is as beneficial for the residents as it is for me.
In what capacities have you donated your time with Windy Hill?
Originally, I was looking to help develop a reading program in the Community room at Llewellyn Village Apartments. I love getting to know the children and understanding how I can support them, whether that means reading to them, playing or just being a friendly face at the after-school program. I have now expanded my role to volunteering with the seniors at Levis Hill House.
“With Eloise’s leadership and Michelle’s hands-on day to day oversight, Windy Hill is thriving and expanding their support of our community. I look forward to continuing in whatever way I can help.” – Jane Hensley

What have been the highlights of volunteering with Windy Hill?
My favorite part of volunteering with Windy Hill is when we coordinate activities with both the children who attend the Seasons After School program at Llewellyn and the seniors at Levis Hill House. It’s the best of both worlds because I get to walk the kids up the hill and visit Levis for trick or treating, holiday singalongs or just to hangout. The vibe is always one of mutual respect and community, and I feel so fortunate to be apart of it.
